chale

A mountain chalet designed for three families, with the flexibility to function as a cohesive whole. The project builds upon a heritage ground floor. A transparent glass volume acts as a subtle threshold between the old and the new, creating both a visual and conceptual gap that preserves the identity of each part. The core concept centers on air: the glass connector embodies this ethos, transferring the essence of lightness and transparency while reflecting the ever-changing environment.

As a mountain lover, my additive approach was to bring attention to the bold presence of the Sassolungo mountain. My design sought not merely to frame this view with generous glazing, but to draw its spirit inward. Strategic contrasts of light and shadow further heighten this immersive connection to nature, letting the architecture breathe with its surroundings. I was involved from the early conceptual stage through the second phase of communication with the municipality. The project is currently on hold.
